Cheerleader

When I was in the 8th grade I began cheerleading. What fun it was to get the cute skirt, the monogrammed polo and sweatshirt, hand painted ladder, red Keds and more. After perfecting the feather for my bangs and applyinf the lip gloss, I was ready to cheer. Did I know the difference between offense and defense? Well…..no, but there was one girl on the squad who did and she taught the rest of us [Symbol]. I continued to cheer for our high school basketball and football teams and had a great time. Those coaches were no joke though, we had to train, do all sorts of core exercises and practice practice practice! But hey, it paid off, we had a great squad, I had great abs and I won the Spirit Award for the best Toe Touch at summer camp!

Why do I share this silly memory? Because not much has really changed. I love to cheer on my “team.” I love to help, encourage and come along side people who need the encouragement to meet their goal. I’m still practicing, still exercising, and still working on my core! I don’t know everything there is to know about health and fitness but I’ve learned a lot and I would love to be a cheerleader for you as we grow together on this journey to health.

If you need a cheerleader, I’m your girl. I want to see you have success in health. Did you know that the rate of obesity is slowly increasing every year? Did you know that your diet can impact every area of our health? Let’s face it… we aren’t getting any younger.

I will never look like I did in that picture and that’s okay, but I am actually much healthier than I was in that picture. I eat way more nutrient dense foods than I did then and I exercise more consistently. What about you? Are you the healthiest you have ever been? Do you want to be?
