I love our school and I love my son. Noah recently had the opportunity to try something new. Our school gives the junior high students the opportunity to play on various sports teams to represent the school, whether students have ever played the sport or not. They keep it very affordable and convenient, working the schedule around school and avoid the busy weekends. Noah has never played volleyball outside of PE but he’s in 8th grade so…why not!? (He is way more courageous than I was at 14).
This reminds me of the new opportunities that come our way in life. We are often too afraid to try something new for many reasons. What if we aren’t good at it? What if we fail? What if people laugh at us or judge us? What if we’ve never done it before? What if it doesn’t work?
WHAT IF we put our fears aside and have the courage to try something new? WHAT IF we stop worrying about what other people think of us and do what is best for us instead?
Noah has had a great season learning new skills, growing in friendships, giving high fives to teammates, learning to not take himself so seriously…and to laugh at himself too. He’s gotten great exercise and been able to fit it into his schedule.
You will gain the same benefits if you choose to take the plunge and try something new with me in a Challenge Group. Exercise. Convenience. Affordability. Laughter. Learning. Accountability. Won’t you put aside your fears or skepticism and join me?
